Get Involved

ACFAS offers a variety of ways for our members to get involved.

Every year, the College brings in new volunteers to provide the energy required to bring to fruition the College’s strategic initiatives. This work happens through committee, task force, educational program faculty, and regions. With every volunteer, the College grows more energized, more diverse and inclusive, and better equipped to lead the organization into the future.

The 2025 Call for Volunteers is Now Open!
The application deadline is October 31, 2024.

There are limited spots on ACFAS committees for PGY-1 residents only.
PGY-1 Volunteer Application

New committee volunteers, volunteers wishing to be considered for a new committee and volunteers for Clinical Consensus Panels or Scientific Literature Review editors will be asked to provide a one-page CV and statement of interest.

The College is comprised of eleven committees and task forces. These teams of volunteers bring the strategic plan to life by taking responsibility for certain tactics outlined in the plan and providing guidance and oversight for these projects created by the committees and task forces. If you would like to volunteer, please read the ACFAS Volunteer Requirements.

The application deadline was September 27, 2024.  Please view this page for more information.

ACFAS invites all members to get involved in their local Regions.

ACFAS has had an increasing number of individuals interested in becoming faculty. Given the limited number of faculty positions, we are temporarily closing faculty applications as we evaluate our faculty application and assignment process. Please watch for correspondence from ACFAS regarding the updated process.

The College’s three educational program committees are responsible for developing the specialty’s most respected CME curriculum, including the ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference, hands-on surgical skills courses, other single-topic seminars including practice management and regional symposia. They also develop content for podcasts, e-books, and other e-learning tools.

ACFAS always seeks to diversify its faculty with new instructors who possess the expertise and experience needed to maintain the College’s high standards and attendee expectations. A Board position statement outlines the variety of expectations and qualities considered in the speaker selection process (see below). Faculty members of the Annual Scientific Conference are provided free general registration and reimbursement of travel expenses. Surgical courses and symposia faculty are provided a modest honoraria and reimbursement of travel expenses.
