Program Summary/Training Goals:

  • The NOVA Foot & Ankle Reconstruction Fellowship is a unique, one-year experience based at a busy multi-specialty practice led by Dr. Roland Ramdass, DPM, FACFAS. All faculty are ABFAS Board Certified Podiatric Surgeons with a high surgical volume in elective forefoot and rear foot surgeries.
  • The fellow encounters a broad range of foot and ankle pathology, with an emphasis on complex hindfoot and ankle reconstruction, total ankle replacements, arthroscopy, and charcot reconstruction, with additional exposure to limb deformity correction, external fixation, and complex revision surgery.
  • With a balanced schedule of clinic and surgical cases, the fellow is thoroughly engaged in every aspect of patients’ surgical treatment plan. Our fellows are expected to perform 400-500 cases per year with excellent case diversity and complexity.
  • The fellow will get exposure to a high volume clinic over the course of the year, with an emphasis on preoperative planning and postoperative care.
  • There is also the opportunity for an international medical mission trip.
  • With training stemming from multiple foot and ankle surgeons and board-certified orthopedists, our graduates are expected to become well-rounded physicians and surgeons and future leaders of the profession.  There is a strong academic and research emphasis.
