NASHVILLE, TN (March 23, 2018) - Foot and ankle surgeon Roya Mirmiran, DPM, FACFAS, of Sacramento, CA, is the recipient of the 2018 American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeon's (ACFAS) Distinguished Service Award, one of the College's highest honors. Dr. Mirmiran is the fifteenth recipient of this distinguished honor and was presented with the award at ACFAS' Annual Scientific Conference in Nashville, TN, on March 23, 2018.
The ACFAS Board of Directors presents this award each year to recognize those members who volunteer their time, expertise and service behind the scenes to help enhance the College's mission to advance the profession of foot and ankle surgery for the benefit of the patients they serve.
"It is a great honor to be able to present Dr. Mirmiran with this distinguished award," Laurence G. Rubin, DPM, FACFAS, and President of the ACFAS Board of Directors, said. "Dr. Mirmiran has been actively involved in our profession on multiple levels over the years and wherever she serves, she is a pleasure to work with and her dedication is truly appreciated," he added.
"I am deeply humbled and honored to receive the ACFAS Distinguished Service Award," Dr. Mirmiran said. "Receiving this award is affirmation that a person's life and career has been enhanced and that the field of foot and ankle surgery has excelled. This award represents that our work is not done and there is so much more to be done for our patients and the profession," she added.
Dr. Mirmiran is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon and practices in Sacramento, CA. She is also a Fellow Member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
