Dr. George Tye Liu Elected Secretary-treasurer of ACFAS

AUSTIN, Texas (February 25, 2022)-George Tye Liu, DPM, FACFAS, recently took office as secretary-treasurer of the 7,900-member American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). The official induction took place at the ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference in Austin, TX on February 25.

"It is a privilege to serve ACFAS in this capacity as we continue to operate a successful, strategic organization," said George Tye Liu, DPM, FACFAS, incoming secretary/treasurer, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. "My goal is to keep the College best-equipped to advance science, research and education in our endeavor to improve disease management and public health. Only then, can we best serve our patients' foot and ankle needs."

Dr. Liu earned his doctoral degree in podiatric medicine at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his podiatric medicine and surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and received advanced training through orthopedic trauma fellowships at University of Catania Emanuele Hospital (Italy) and Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital (Germany).

Dr. Liu joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2009 in the department of Orthopedic Surgery. He is board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery.
