Research Requirements:

The fellow will complete a minimum of one research project to be accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal or result in submission for poster display at the ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference.

Program Summary/Training Goals: 
 
  • The fellowship director brings a wealth of experience to share in the areas of traumatic, reconstructive and limb salvage surgery. He previously founded and directed a well-regarded surgical fellowship program in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • Fellow will be exposed to a high-volume foot and ankle surgery practice with a focus on in-patient limb salvage, traumatic injury and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in the hospital setting. Fellows will work closely with the attending foot and ankle surgeons as well as with vascular and orthopedic trauma surgeons during the duration of the one-year fellowship program.
  • Experience gained in our hospital based fellowship training program will prepare the surgeon with the experience and confidence/trust un their training to care for patients with complex traumatic injuries of the lower extremity, challenging diabetic and other limb threatening infections and other conditions requiring specialized training in advanced surgical reconstruction and salvage.
