ACFAS 2024 is Here!

Pre-conference workshops and programming are happening today in Tampa before kicks off tomorrow morning. This record-breaking event is expecting more than 2,200 registered attendees this week and 1,200 exhibitors for a total attendance of 3,400. Additionally, nearly 100 APMSA members will be onsite for the APMSA mid-winter House of Delegates meeting that is being held alongside ACFAS 2024. We’re looking forward to:

 

Education

Over of exclusive content offering up to 34 CECH including pre-conference programming and focusing on career development in the Exhibit Hall.

 

Inspiration

Keynote Speaker Jim Abbott will share his inspirational story during Thursday’s Opening General Session.

 

Resources

Nearly 200 exhibitors across the specialty will showcase their products and services in the Exhibit Hall.

 

Entertainment

Connect with your colleagues throughout the Welcome Reception on Thursday and the Wrap Party at American Bar and Social on Saturday.

Dr. Michael S. Downey Receives the 2024 Distinguished Service Award

Congratulations to Michael S. Downey, DPM, FACFAS on receiving this year’s Distinguished Service Award!

 

Dr. Downey has spent nearly 25 years volunteering within the College. Dr. Downey’s service included two terms on the Annual Scientific Conference Committee 17 years apart, the chair of the Education and Scientific Affairs Committee, a member of the former CPG Management Council and he also currently serves as a reviewer of the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, ACFAS’ esteemed peer-reviewed scientific journal.

 

Dr. Downey and other award recipients will be recognized at the ACFAS Honors and Awards Ceremony taking place on Friday at .

Trauma Techniques for Residents

Learn the latest techniques at April 13-14 in Columbus, OH. Earn 14.75 CECH learning how to:

  • Discuss the concepts of stability, their influence on bone healing, and how to apply implants to achieve appropriate stability
  • Plan treatment for metatarsal fractures, hallux valgus, and first MTP arthritis based on assessment, imaging, classification, and decision making
  • Apply reduction techniques in fracture management with attention to the importance of the soft tissue
  • Use appropriate fixation techniques to treat common pathologies of the foot and ankle including (peri) articular fractures

This course is jointly provided by ACFAS and AO North America.
