In Memoriam: Past ACFAS President Dr. Ben Hara |
ACFAS extends its deepest condolences to the friends and family of Ben Hara, DPM, FACFAS who passed away on January 5 at the age of 97.
Dr. Hara served as President of ACFAS (then ACFS) from 1971-1972. He was pivotal in creating the first textbooks to focus on surgical complications. He once said, “Any surgeon worth his salt is called upon to manage the consequences of complication and resolve them satisfactorily.”
Dr. Hara later proposed developing hands-on classes and workshops that thousands of foot and ankle surgeons have since benefitted from. A leading specialist in practice management, Dr. Hara at one point lead the largest foot and ankle practice in the United States.
